The Woodstock Navy Vets’ celebration will have to wait a little longer.

After a snowstorm postponed Saturday’s game against Tavistock, the 1968-69 Navy Vets team that won a provincial championship will now be honoured this Friday at Southwood Arena when Norwich visits at 7:45 p.m. No make-up date has been announced for Saturday’s game.

Woodstock (22-11-2-0) is coming off a 3-0 win over New Hamburg Friday night at home.

Jacob Rooke scored twice and added an assist, while Tom McFarlane added an empty-net goal. Keaghan Brett made 24 saves for his third shutout of the season.

Isaac Seltzer stopped 34 shots for New Hamburg.

Each team was scoreless on the power play.

Tavistock (26-5-3-1) scored early and often in a 16-0 victory over the winless Delhi Travellers Friday night.

Justin Labrie, Tanner Johnson, Brock McKenzie, Bradley Smith and Spencer Shelp all had two goals, while Ryan Donat, Patrick Vulgan, Drew Gerth, Ian Glendinning, Zac Berg and Josh Helgerman added single markers. Smith led the way with five points, and 13 Braves players had at least two points.

Jensen Van Boekel made 12 saves for the shutout.

Tavistock peppered a pair of Delhi goalies with 82 shots.

The Braves went 1-for-6 on the power play, and the Travellers went 0-for-2.

Blake Pow’s five-point night led the Norwich Merchants to a 10-4 win over Ayr Friday night.

Pow had two goals and three assists as the Merchants improved to 18-14-2-0. Brady Van Ymeran scored twice, Rycol Davis had a goal and two assists, while Jamie Damignani and Jake Luke each had a goal and assist. Cam Allen, Cole Feeney and Noah Giovinazzo added a single marker apiece. Benjamin Cripps and Jeremy Bomberry both had a pair of helpers. Zach Johnston made 26 saves.

Kobe Roe, Ben Demoe, Darcy Winkler and John McDonald scored for Ayr.

Each team had a power-play goal.

Thamesford has won four straight after a pair of weekend victories.

The Trojans (24-10-1-3) beat Lucan 7-2 Friday at home. Spencer Mills fired a hat trick, while Cole Schnittiker had a goal and two assists. Ray Robbins and Cooper Brabrook each had a goal and assist, and Dillon Hunter added a single marker. Luke Caldarozzi and Kurtis White picked up a pair of helpers apiece. Ryan Gullage made 22 saves.

Colby Ackworth and Blake Boreham replied for Lucan. Gordie O’Dwyer made 45 saves.

Thamesford was 1-for-5 with the man advantage, and Lucan went 0-for-4.

Sunday in Mt. Brydges, White scored 17 seconds into overtime to give the Trojans a 7-6 win over the Bulldogs. White and Mills each had a goal and assist, Robbins scored twice and added an assist, Schnittiker had a goal and two assists, while Caldarozzi and Hunter added single markers. Brabrook had three assists, and Jared Caldarozzi added a pair of helpers. Spencer Mace made 54 saves.

Stuart Ireland and Russell Kelly each scored twice for the Bulldogs. Cale Johnstone and Michael Rowe also scored. Mitchell Van Eindhoven made 50 saves.

Thamesford didn’t get a power play, and Mt. Brydges went 0-for-3.
