The Town of Winnipeg Beach has announced that its community centre is currently open to accommodate those residents still without electricity on Oct. 13.

An announcement was made on the Town of Winnipeg Beach website informing the public following an initial announcement regarding the power outage three days ago from downed power lines.

The public notice also mentions that Manitoba Hydro will respond to repair power lines as soon as possible but no timeline has been provided.

The community centre is warm and can provide fresh water, showers and washroom facilities for those in need.

Initially the announcement noted power lines down on the west side of town. An additional notice regarding power outages on the east side of town has also been posted.

If you are without power, please visit the Winnipeg Beach community centre at 32 Hamilton Avenue or call 204-641-0470 / 204-389-2698 to leave a message.
