The final Gimli Beach Bash of 2018 brought in two winners of radio contests to end the summer season of live music on the beach, on behalf of the RM of Gimli.

The first band, Veritah, is a Winnipeg based garage rock duo born last summer and chosen by Power 97 listeners this summer. Their first single, “Wake Me Up”, was released in August.

The Trews, who headlined the evening, won the 97.7 HTZ-FM Rock Search in the summer of 2002  and landed a management contract with Bumstead Productions Ltd. “Not Ready to Go” hit number one on Canadian rock radio and was the most played song of 2004 in that format. Other hits from over the years include “Paranoid Freak” and “Poor Ol’ Broken Hearted Me” according to the band’s website.
